Fourth Lesson

Today I tought Sophie & Liam how to program the NXT robot to follow the lines so on our big ginger-bread house map & we agreed for my dad to build a ginger-bread house & a wood-cutter's house & a little bridge to go over a lake on our big map for our robot to go over then we moved onto our big map and we started to draw lines on it to get a head of everybody in the classroom so the teacher could be happy with us then we moved back to school and we had a great day.

Third Lesson

Hi Guys! So today we started off with robot's, and the Year 4's liked that. We had to make our robot a bump sensor and we had to let the Year 4's do the the programming but we had trouble when we were building the bump sensor. The year 4's were bored so we had a challenge to make them unbored. We sent them on programing the robots, they liked that challenge because they got to go on our  laptops. So we had built the bump sensor and we had made it work so on to the next challenge. The Year 4's had to program the robots to go around the black line with the light sensors.

Then we moved onto our next challenge, building our forest floors. First we had to sellotape our floor together and flip it over so that we can draw on, one of our team members drew a huge line on the paper when we were only suppose to draw a small line because we do not know how wide the line has to be for the robot to go along, we also needed to stick things onto it like our forest floor. For this we had to go out and collect grass and twigs for the forest floors and the trees we got lots but just as we got back we had to pack up so we had to throw the sticks, twigs and grass out and fold up our map and put it away.

Next time we will have something for the little kids to do and we will be ready.
Also we will try to keep the little kids entertained throughout the whole entire time.

Second Lesson

Hey guys! We had a great day today. We had to make our robot go straight ahead on the blue line. But our robot had a bit of a problem with its wheel and it didn't go very straight. The robot had to say something when it finished and it said good job. After we had finished that easy challenge. We had to make our robot do a figure of 8. That was the hard one. We just couldn't do it at first, but then we got the programming right and we did it. It was quite cool at the time. Then we swapped stations and we had to make a map of our robot. We had to do it on an A3 piece of paper. Then we had to put it on four pieces of A3 paper. We found out that the year 4's out smarted us a few times. So in all we had a great day and that we can't wait till next week.

First lesson

The first time at Bethlehem School was very exciting. When we got to meet our little buddies they seemed pretty cool about working with kids older than them. One of our buddies was shy and liked to hang back whilst the other one loved to jump in and give everything a try.
